The fiercest rivalry in the history of English Football that has always been the game that every Manchester United fan looks for when the fixtures are released. A rivalry that spans back to the industrial revolution and the outrage Liverpool brought onto Manchester with the high import charges from the Port of Liverpool. FA Cup Final 1996, Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool:
This game wasn’t regarded as one of the best finals in history with it being more memorable for the questionable fashion choices of some Liverpool players before the game, however, history was made in this game as Manchester United were the first club to win the league and Cup double twice. A well struck Volley by Eric Cantona in the dying minutes of the game meant that the FA Cup was coming to Manchester once again.
Manchester United 2-1 Liverpool, 1999:
Another Fa cup clash between the two rival clubs but this time it was a much earlier round of the competition but one that was vital in United’s run to winning the treble. A game that saw Michael Owen give Liverpool an early lead but not able to take advantage as the Red Devils fought their way back in typical Fergie style with two goals in the 88th and 90th minute by Dwight Yorke and current Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool, 2006:
Manchester United became masters at scoring in the last few minutes of a game but to do it against your most hated rivals made it even better. You could see this feeling in Gary Neville just after Rio Ferdinand put the ball in the back of the net as he charged towards the away end clutching the badge on his chest with so much passion teasing and riling the Liverpool fans up in the process. Gary Neville picked a fine up for improper conduct but wouldn’t have cared too much after beating Liverpool in such an emphatic way.
Manchester United 3-2 Liverpool, 2010:
Old Trafford roared on this day giving an important league victory to Man United, but this game was remembered for one thing; a stunning individual display by the Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov. His performance against Liverpool was capped off with a brilliant hat-trick which included an unbelievable over-head kick.

That game. That new signing from France. That cut in from the left. That embarrassed defender. That goal. That commentary from Martin Tyler. That perfect arrival for Anthony Martial.
