Norwich v United Preview: Reds Look To Build On Away Win

Form:

United head into the game having just ended their horrid away game form by beating the mighty Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League. The Partizan game was the start of a run of 4 away games on the trot and the reds would be feeling confident of the game on Sunday. Having rested several key players from the starting XI in Belgrade the memory of the unfortunate draw with Liverpool would still be fresh in the minds of many of the players. A major concern for the boys besides the away run has been the inability to produce chances and score more than a goal since the Chelsea game. Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw are expected to be out of this game therefore Ole is expected to be reliant on Andreas and Fred for the creativity in the XI. Martial is also back in the mix with a spirited hour-long performance in Europe, his return could see Rashford move to the left. United currently sit 14^th and a win could do a world of good for our position in the table and to our confidence before we head to Stamford Bridge.

Expected XI:

David De Gea will be back in goal for the reds with Aaron Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, Harry Maguire and hopefully the young Brandon Williams in defence. Fred and Andreas’s commendable performances against the Scousers and would see them starting alongside Scott who has cemented his place in the side. The attack could end up with James down the right and hopefully Rashford on the left and Martial down the centre. Jesse’s lacklustre performance midweek could see him make the bench.

Opponent Check:

Norwich City have only won 2 of their opening 9 matches with one of their famous wins coming against Manchester City. The memory of that performance would be hard to forget for the fans and the players when they take on United. Teemu Pukki has been the star of the show in the opening games having scored 6 out of the 10 goals for Norwich. Emiliano Buendia has the most number of assists for the Canaries (4) and could prove to be a threat along with Pukki. Norwich currently languish 19^th in the league table and this should be a comfortable 3 points for United but with the away form and lack of creativity in the centre could see this game end in a stalemate for both sides doing neither side any good.
